Enable conversion tracking on Microsoft Advertising

Conversion tracking is essential for measuring the effectiveness of your advertising campaigns. With Feedcast, integration with Microsoft Advertising is streamlined. However, you will need to add your conversion tracking to track sales made through your Microsoft Advertising campaigns.

In this article, we will guide you step by step to activate the conversion tracking of your e-commerce site on Microsoft Advertising.

Step 1: Log in to your Microsoft Advertising account

Log in to your Microsoft Advertising account.
Make sure you have installed the Microsoft UET tag.
In the left-hand menu, click on "Tools" and then on "Conversion tracking".
Click on "Create" to generate your UET tag.
Copy the tag and paste it between the <head></head> tags on each page of your website.
You only need to install the global site tag once on each page of your website, even if you're tracking multiple conversions.

To check that Microsoft's tracking integration (UET) is correct, you can use the extensions available on Chrome and Microsoft Edge

Step 2: Create a new conversion

Click on the "Create a conversion" button.
Name your conversion, for example, "Website Purchase".
Select "Purchase" as the conversion type.

Step 3: Set up the conversion

Define the value of the conversion. If each conversion has a different value (for instance, for a purchase), choose "Value varies".
Select the conversion window suitable for your business. By default, we recommend 30 days.
Set up the conversion count according to your preferences: "All" or "Unique".

Step 4: Integrate the tracking code

Once the conversion has been created, integrate the variables to bring up the desired data (number of sales, turnover...). Copy this code.

We advise you to make a test purchase on your site to ensure that the conversion is correctly tracked. After a few hours, check in Microsoft Advertising to confirm that the conversion is recorded.

You can also facilitate the integration of conversion tracking using applications / extensions on certain CMS (Shopify, Prestashop, Woocommerce...) or solutions like Google Tag Manager.
